Hello,  3/23/2013

The last year has been one of many changes in my life. I had to move my home and workshop.

In the process of this relocating, all sorts of possessions were reviewed, evaluated and sold, given away or kept. In fact, now, some months after settling in a  new house and a new state (Mass, instead of NY) there is more work to do to properly "downsize" our stuff. For two eclectic collectors, my wife and I, this is no easy task.

In addition to the physical labor is the sometimes wrenching exercise on emotional muscles. I think we suffer from some injuries as the result of some of the emotional stresses. We will, however, persist and survive.

We are holding on to the important parts of our dream and adjusting as needed to the changes in the pathway to it. It is, after all, the journey not the destination that is the true stuff of life..."They" say.

Many activities were placed on pause while we worked on a very difficult and time consuming moving process. My new shop is up and running and there are several aspects of it that are improvements over the old space I worked from.

The house is quite a bit smaller, and that is difficult to adjust to, but it is also probably a good thing since we really need to sort our possessions and do some serious editing. We know it will make us happy to do this, but the doing of it is a big challenge.

My writing was one activity placed on hold. I am now feeling the pressure of the words and ideas that have filled the space behind the dam and are threatening to spill over. The plan is to choose a topic and create a new article that will, hopefully, have interest to antique furniture owners and collectors, and others who are adjusting to the changes that seem to be all around us, holding their place on the planet, with feet planted on the ground, on their own path towards their special dreamed destination.

Spring is upon us. What a miracle it is. I want to slow down time at this part of the cycle of the seasons. My favorite.
I'm working on it. I'll stay in touch.
